One of the most precious gifts you can give your teenager is a good ear. When your teens know that you are level headed and not about to jump on them if they mention the word ‘tatoo,’ ‘boyfriend’ or ‘night club,’ they will be more open to share with you what really is going on inside them.
Here are a few tips on just how to be a good listener and develop a great relationship with your teenager.
1. Ask them their opinion.
Many times teenagers feel they are not listened to because their opinions carry no weight in a conversation. Be sure to allow your teenager to express their opinions and respect their ideas and dreams.
