All about Woman Post

We live in an information overloaded society, yet we actually know so little. While I was reading this book I took a straw poll of some people I know, and 100% of them had no idea who the Colwell brothers, or Herb Allen are. So much information, yet so little knowledge is a real problem in today’s world. The three cowboy brothers and Herb, probably did more for world peace, or at least peaceful co-existence than any President, or any government organization has ever done. Frank McGee has produced a great book that chronicles the story of these eclectic individuals. Even better the book is peppered with photographs of the actual people and events.

The 4th Of July

Feb-8-2008 By admin

The 4th is one of two big holidays that have nothing to do with gift giving. Like Thanksgiving, the 4th is all about family, community and food. Just mention Independence Day and what comes to mind but fireworks, picnics, and swimming with family and friends.

Independence Day in the U.S.A, marks the formal adoption by the Continental Congress of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although Congress did not complete the signing until August, the 4th of July is accepted as the official anniversary of U.S. independence, and was declared a legal holiday in 1941.

1) Scrapbook for other people: Many people have gobs of photos that need to be organized and scrapbooked, but they do not have the time to do it. Other people like to have nice scrapbooks and feel like they lack the creativity to make the cute scrapbooks that they like. As a scrapbooker, you can use this to your advantage and offer your services to scrapbook for people! You can be in charge of scrapbooking everything, or you might be in charge of merely designing the layout of each photo page. In other circumstances, you might just be in charge of decorating scrapbook pages after the photos have already been placed. For example, you can decorate pages with stickers or with fancy lettering. In addition, you also could help to organize people’s photos before they begin the scrapbooking process. For example, you could organize other people’s photos in a chronological or a thematic order.

Today, Tyler R. Tichelaar of Reader Views is interviewing Dennis M. Powers, author of “Sentinel of the Seas: Life and Death at the Most Dangerous Lighthouse Ever Built.”

Dennis Powers is an avid historian of nautical life. He is the author of “Treasure Ship” and “The Raging Sea.” His new book, “Sentinel of the Seas,” is about lighthouses and more particularly St. George Reef Lighthouse located off the California coast. He spent five years meticulously researching this subject.

Tyler: Hello, Dennis. Thank you for joining me today. I’d like to start our conversation by asking how you became so interested in writing this particular book.
