I Never Did Trust Anybody

Oct-23-2008 By admin

Not even now.

Yes, I have found a man who is more that I ever hoped for and yes, I
am ridiculously happy these days but truth be told, I live very
carefully most of the time. The age old thought habit driving the need
to be perfect is a tough one to overcome.

I am challenged this day to examine that position. Do I really
believe that no one is trustworthy? Where did that belief come from.
Hmmmm. Yes, there have been a few disappointments along the way. And
yes, a few people I thought were solid as the rock of Gibraltar had
feet of clay but in their humanity, weren’t their errors in judgment
right in line with who they were at the moment?

Babies: Sleep issues 4-7 months

Sep-8-2008 By admin

Your baby should start sleeping through the night at about 3 months.
But babies are learning and observing all the time, and your baby could
soon start to associate sleep time with time that mommy isn’t there.
It’s called separation anxiety and it’s a normal part of development
for many babies. But it can be especially trying for parents, as babies
can be particularly strong-willed, especially about bedtime!

Families Can Save on Gas

Jun-23-2008 By admin

Money is tight these days.  Many parents are struggling to make ends meet.  Families are making significant sacrifices.  Here are some very simple and yet very helpful suggestions on how a family can save money on gas.

Gas prices keep rising, which takes precious money out of your pocket that your family needs.  Raising children is expensive and now even more of it is going out without the benefit of any additional money coming in.

If your children, or the children next door, turned to a life of dangerous drugs, you’d be only too keen to look for a reason and try and find an excuse. Is that any help? It might be that it doesn’t matter how the habit started, especially after a few years. What matters is giving up the self-destructive habit. Then we can talk about it. If there’s a problem, maybe we can fix it. But that comes later, once you’re off the road of addiction.

Teach Kids to Fight Fair

Jun-6-2008 By admin

Regardless of how well parents get along, the time will come when we disagree.  It is just a simple fact of life.  The question becomes: the example we set for our children.

Fighting starts very young, unless you are an only child. Early on in life, we decide we do not want to share. We also have a habit of wanting to take away what others have. As our vocabulary skills improve, we may decide to say unkind words or others may share their less than loving thoughts. Occasionally accidents happen and we don’t always show the patience that would be normal for that particular situation. Disappointment isn’t high on our “oh, that is okay” mind-set either. We tend to act it out before the words form.

This is going to sound like a cliché, and rightfully so, but trust is the cornerstone of every relationship. Without it, a relationship is full of misery and doomed to fail.

With extramarital affairs, divorce and failed relationships becoming more and more prevalent in today’s society, many people are becoming reluctant to place their faith in their partners. They view their partners with suspicion, while questioning their every word.
