More To Craft Than Meets The Eye
By Sandra Hedditch

Have you ever thought about the other aspects of crafting?
Yes craft has many faces that most people have not thought of such as being a friendship maker.

Yes that’s right many people that for some reason or other are stuck at home, the elderly widow or widower the young mother or disabled person, these people join their local church or community hall craft clubs to learn new crafts and to meet like minded people and friendships are made with someone that you would not normally associate with such as a young mum befriending an elderly person.

I have met people from all walks of life that I would not normally meet and have not only learnt new crafts but also about other ways of life and cultures.

So craft helps the lonely and eases depression by striking up friendships, it also helps older people feel useful as they often have great skills in a craft that they can pass on to others.

Craft is good for elderly people as it keeps the mind active and passes time, it is great for mentally disabled people as it helps with learning, socializing and coordination.

Craft is also a fantastic teacher to children it helps with math, English, coordination, they learn how to use tools such as scissors, paint brushes, pencils and of course glue.
Making collages also teaches about different textures and painting teaches colors and what primary colors make when mixed together, plus they find out how nice it is to share with others.

Craft also gives children a sense of pride when they have made something that they can show off to family and friends.

No matter what craft you choose to do or maybe like me you might like to dabble in many different kinds there is more to it than meet the eye.

Craft is fun and therapeutic it can be done alone or with groups it can be a teacher and it keeps your imagination active.

Craft is not discriminate it is for men, women, boys or girls all ages, all creeds and cultures.

So what are you waiting for go find a craft and make yourself or someone you love something special Today
